This is Populus Coffee’s second coffee from Marisela Sanchez, Colombia. This anaerobic washed Rosado from Palestina, Huila makes a tasty cup of espresso with fruity and spicy Assam tea-like notes and soft almondy tones. If you brew this bean as a filter, you'll get notes of green apple, white grapes, and sweet citrus fruits with white floral and delicate tea-like herbal notes.

The Producer: Marisela Sanchez's coffee comes from a unique collective of coffee producers called La REB (La Real Expedición Botánica). Herbert Peñazola and Ana Mustafá founded La REB to help farmers across Colombia improve their coffee growing practices and processing techniques. As coffee quality increases, so does the price paid for it, and La REB works to connect farmers with buyers worldwide.

Populus Coffee was born in 2016 in Neukölln Berlin, and is a family business founded by Sari and Henrik Haavisto. Originally from Finland, coffee is a part of their DNA. They grew up with filter coffee all around them. In 2014, Henrik's background in journalism took him on a trip to Guatemala and Honduras, and it turned out to be a life-changing one. He got to experience the true beauty of specialty coffee: the relationship between people who share the same passion and work together for a common goal.
